The journey toward the 2027 ballot is already well underway. The party opened the window for the collection of application forms on April 1, 2026, a process that will remain active until May 4.
Following this preliminary phase, the high-stakes sale of nomination forms will take place during a concise window from May 5 to May 10, with the deadline for the submission of all completed documentation set for May 13. To maintain the integrity of its candidate pool, the ADC has scheduled a mandatory screening exercise for all aspirants between May 14 and May 15.
The results of these evaluations will be made public on May 17, allowing for a two-day appeals window on May 18 and 19. The final, definitive list of cleared candidates who will ultimately vie for the party’s ticket is expected to be released on May 20.
The primary elections themselves are scheduled as a rapid-fire series of democratic exercises beginning in late May. On May 21, the party will conduct simultaneous elections at the ward level for the State Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Senate. This will be followed immediately by the governorship primaries on May 22. The pinnacle of the internal electoral process will occur on May 25 with the presidential primary, where the party will select its standard-bearer for the nation’s highest office. This sequence of events will culminate in a meeting of the National Executive Committee on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27, where all results will be formally ratified and the party’s 2027 slate will be officially cemented.

The presidential nomination form is set at 100 million Naira, while governorship aspirants are expected to pay 50 million Naira. Legislative seats are scaled at 20 million Naira for the Senate, 10 million Naira for the House of Representatives, and 3 million Naira for the State House of Assembly. A 50 percent discount has been granted to youth aspirants, while women and persons living with disabilities will receive a 25 percent reduction in fees.
