The national student body has given a major nod to the new leadership at the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo, as the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Olushola Oladoja, concluded a working visit to the institution on Wednesday.
The NANS President highly rated the management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, for its rapid developmental strides, highlighting a focus on student welfare and campus infrastructure.
During his address, Comrade Oladoja praised the administration’s efforts since assuming office, stating: “I thumb up for you and score your Management high on the developmental strides which include the new road network round the school, new University Health Centre, rehabilitated lecture rooms among others. I am happy that students welfare is topmost to you in the report given to me.”
The visit, which is part of the NANS President’s nationwide familiarisation tour, drew student leaders from across the state.
Comrade Oladoja also took the opportunity to commend the Federal Government, specially lauding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which he noted has “brought a great relief to Nigerian students.”
Responding to the high commendation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, who was accompanied by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Wole Akinlabi, expressed gratitude for the visit.
Professor Olaniyan attributed the ongoing transformation and positive developments at the over 150-year-old institution to the unwavering support and “enabling environment created by our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE.”
He also specially commended the Governor’s SSA on Student Matters, Comrade Victor Olojede, for his impactful work.
The NANS President’s endorsement serves as a strong validation of the university’s transition and modernization efforts under its new university status.
