IN NASARAWA, 145 inmates bag PhD, first degrees

Not less than 145 inmates of the Nigeria Correctional Service in Nasarawa are getting education while serving their terms in prison.

While some have already graduated, others are currently studying wide varieties of courses.

This was disclosed by the controller of the service in the state, Aliyu Yahuza in Lafia on Friday. He said, the inmates are from the Lafia custodian centre and the new one in Keffi.

Aliyu added that, one of them has completed his doctorate degree while 18 others are currently undergoing their masters degree. 78 are running degree programmes and 48 of them are writing the senior secondary School certificate Examination (SSCE) under the National Business and Technical Examination Board(NABTEB)
