“Mobile phones shorten the road to lovemaking”, Dr. Adeniyi warns

Parents have been advised to regulate their ward’s usage of mobile phones owing to the easy connection of the device to uncontrolled lovemaking amongst youths as formal schooling resumes in Oyo state today.

This call was made by Dr. Adeniyi Zafaran Omotope, CEO Vanguards Academy Ogun state at the the September’s edition of Asshumuliyyah Forum held at Asaleye mosque, Oyo yesterday.

Taking the audience through the topic, Social Media: Its virtues and vices, Dr. Zafaran showed that the over 2.74 billion Facebook users, 2.2 billion Facebook users, 1.3 billion and 1.2 billion Facebook Messenger and twitter users are prone to both the negative and positive sides of this new invention.

He demonstrated that though social media users are likely to be enlightened, informed and educated on the platforms, once time for rahfeez, tahjud and tilaawah is likely to be affected by dint of spending time in those platforms.

Touching on the need for parents to guard their wards against the uncontrolled usage of the social media/internet, he portrayed that nudity, indecent dressing, evil immitation, and platonic love have enshrrouded the media.

He also cautioned the Muslim Ummah against the spread of fake news, bad company and the social media addiction which are offspring of the social media.

He did add that social media has in no small measure shortens the span and relative significance of love with the view that it shotens the road to lovemaking which invites a sniff at Zinna, promote a life of pleasure as against that of modesty, determination and push for greatness.
