NBC Sanctions Inspiration FM, Suspends Presenters of Olufe Otito Indefinitely

The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC has sanctioned Inspiration FM, Ibadan for allowing a religious-denigrating programme, Olufe Otito, on air.

The Commission through its Ibadan Zonal Director, Raphael Akpan, said, “the complaint by the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, Oyo state Chapter was received, considered and investigated in accordance with Section 2 (1) of the Commission’s code.”

Mr Akpan thereafter established that, the MMPN’s complaint tittled, ” INSPIRATION FM AGAIN WITH ITS PROGRAMME DENIGRATING ISLAM AND THE ADHERENTS OF THE RELIGION” was investigated, and upheld due to the fact that your complaint against the presenters of the programme “Olufe Otito” and the station were true.

” The station has been sanctioned accordingly, the programme banned on air and presenters suspended indefinitely”, Akpan notified.

The Commission however commended MMPN’s decision of towing the path of peace in resolving the matter.
