Horror: Ritualist Den Discovered in Dacamca, Oyo

Ritualist activities have been discovered in an unoccupied flat in Dacamca area of Oyo West Local Government in Oyo state.

News Live Nigeria reports that the discovery was made when a new owner who just bought one of the flats next to the building, now known as the ritualist den, charged some boys to clear the bush behind his house.

Mr Sunday Adeleye, the chairman of Dacamca zone 1 who spoke with our correspondent said, “the building (the den) has been abandoned for some time now. It is not occupied. Though, it has had occupants before but it’s been long.

“We learnt that a landlord, one of us in the community just sold the flat to another man. It was the latter who charged some boys to help him clear the bush behind his fence. In the process, the boys doing the clearing saw decomposing parts of human bodies and raised the alarm. This attracted people around and immediately, we (the community) reported the case to the Ojongbodu Police station. The Police team was led to the scene and thereafter, information gathered led to the arrest of Alhaji Aro whose son was said to have been visiting the building. The boy has been arrested since Sunday”.

Meanwhile, around 8am on Monday, the Police team brought the suspect to the scene who admitted he used to frequent the building. Subsequently, Alhaji Aro was released.

Mr Adeleye affirmed the community’s confidence in the investigation by the police and hoped every individual that might have been involved in killing for rituals or for other purposes would be exposed and brought to book.

He added that since the discovery of the den on Sunday, the landlords in the area have not held their meeting, hence, the next line of action on the building couldn’t be discussed.

Some residents of the area who prefer to remain anonymous told News Live Nigeria that they used to see a motorcycle rider visiting the building but they didn’t suspect any nefarious activity could be going on.

They said, “it happened that on Sunday when some boys were clearing the bush on the instruction of a new landlord who just bought the flat next to this building, some decomposing parts of human bodies such as arms, skull etc were discovered. It was initially thought to be something else.

“We couldn’t believe what we saw! When we entered the main building, we saw a broom and a mat, and blood-stained rags indicating that some people do reside or hide there to carry out some diabolical acts. This is totally unacceptable, vile and devilish.”
