Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic honours Seyi Makinde, suspends 3-week old strike as JAC lauds governor over positive Intervention

Adeseun Ogundoyin Poly has honoured governor Seyi Makinde by suspending its 3-week old strike, News Live Nigeria reports.

The Joint Action Committee of Tertiary Institutions in Oyo State (JAC) has lauded the positive intervention of the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi over the recent internal crisis that rocked the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa.

The intervention led to the suspension of a 3-week old strike by two (2) unions in the College – Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) effective Monday, 11 April, 2022 in honour of the Oyo State Governor.

According to a release signed by the JAC Chairman, Comrade Olusegun Oyewumi and made available to our correspondent, the body appreciated the urgent intervention of His Excellency in restoring sanity and order to the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa.

“We are expressing our profound appreciation to Governor Oluseyi Makinde for his intervention and promise to take a concrete action that will suit and attend to all the Union’s demands.

It is our fervent hope that His Excellency shall act as promised as the Unions in line with their promises at JAC’s instance, have suspended the 3-week old strike embarked upon to press home their demands”, the release concluded.

JAC further appreciated the stakeholders who stood behind the unions during the period of the crisis.
