Pure Heart Islamic Foundation of Nigeria, PHF, has felicitated Nigerians on the joyous occasion of the 62nd Independence anniversary, proffered solutions to plethora of daunting challenges bedeviling the nation while stressing the importance of unity.
This is contained in a congratulatory message signed by the foundation’s national coordinator, Mallam AbdulGaniy Dhikrullah on Saturday.
Mallam AbdulGaniy said, “Our unity lies in strengths rather than weaknesses. The past and present challenges we are being faced with are temporary, no doubt, but we should know that challenges are part of life and hardly is there a nation which has not had her own share of tilting period.
We should harness our most precious strength i.e creative youths and intelligent elders for effective development. A forum of such selected group of people will lead us beyond the promised state. We at PHF have no doubt in our mind that the Nigeria will, once again, be great.
The ongoing negotiation between the government and the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) needs to be hastened to bring the months-long strike to an end. Development aimed for may be elusive as no development will come when the citadel of learning are shut down.
As campaign begins for the next year’s general elections, we urge all political parties and their candidates to play according to the rules of the game. They should shun all forms of thuggery and other electoral offences.
Therefore, as citizens we must play our civic responsibilities by participating in the forthcoming general elections.
Ultimately, dear Nigerians, we must return to our creator for succour. We can not afford to neglect the Supreme being in any of our affairs.
Besides, as citizens we should persist in praying for our country and her leaders”, the statement concluded.
Finally, the foundation joined the rest of the Muslim world in mourning the passing away of Dr. Yusuf Abdullah Al-Qardawiyy, who arguably was most influential Islamic scholar of this century.
