The Osun State Police command has stated that, five people were killed in the clash between some youths of Alape Community in Modakeke, Osun state, earlier on Friday.
In a statement released on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Osun state command, SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin mnipr made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital, noted the State Commissioner of Police has deployed Response team /tactical unit to forestall the breakdown of law and order in the community and assured Residents of safety.
“The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Police Command, CP Olawale Olokode, psc in his usual pragmatic approach to tackle crime and criminalities wishes to assures the residents of Alape via Modakeke area of adequate security coverage as he personally lead the Police Response Team and Tactical Unit of the Command to the scene of the incident where about five (5) people were fiercely murdered in the early hour of today 20th August, 2021, in order to restore normalcy.”

It was reported earlier that, some youths of Ayape Community in Modakeke Osun state clashed over land ownership, leaving five dead and many injured. The tension in the community was heightened as residents ran for safety earlier in the day.
