By Bukola Hameed

Imaam AbdulHadi Ajibade of Ansarud-Deen Mosque, Zone 3, Alagbon, Oyo has underscored the significance of the blessed month of Ramadan in the life of individual fasting Muslim, as well its impacts in reforming our society.

He made this known at the third Ramadan lecture organised by Arowosaye Ahmad Foundation, AAF held on Saturday at Aginsi Mosque opposite Alhaji Ahmad Arowosaye, Oyo.

Answering the question, why do Muslims fast, Imaam Ajibade explained that Ramadan allows Muslims to devote themselves to their faith, get closer to Allah and learn patience and compassion.

“It’s about nourishing your soul, rather than only focusing on your physical well-being. Staunch faith and sincere piety are a product of fasting which Allah has enjoined.

Compassion, kindness and uncommon mercy among humanity are everywhere, courtesy the blessed month.

Ramadan affords us the opportunity to have time for spiritual reflection and growth, to help those in need, and show compassion towards every cadre of humanity”, he concluded.

Meanwhile, in his contribution, Mallam Sodiq OlohunOyin Al-Imaam harped on the need to work tirelessly to be among the true believers whom Allah described as The Successful in Surah Mu’minuun verses one to ten.

He said, “every fasting Muslim must ensure they imbibe the attributes and features of those whom Allah has favoured with His felicity, eternal bliss and celestial success.

Their noble characteristics include prompt observance of Salaah – one which is full of awe, tranquility and peace, avoidance of vain and frivolous talks.

Al-Imaam aslo added that the true believers in Allah are modest in every sense of the word. They are free from sex abuse and sex perversion, and always fulfill the terms of the trusts which are placed in their charge.

However in his remarks, the founder of the Arowosaye Ahmad Foundation, AAF, Alhaji Ahmad Arowosaye disabused the minds of some people whose hearts might have been infected with dirt, as to why he is into philanthropy and doubt his sincerity.

He said, “my ultimate goal for doing all this is to attain Allah’s pleasure. So, whenever your mind asks you – does he need my vote in anyway, say YES. And the vote is your supplication to Allah to accept my generousity and grant me His unquestionable favour.”

Alhaji Arowosaye however urged all Muslims, especially mothers to give their husbands unconditional obedience, loyalty and respect, as these will tell on their children sooner or later.

Meanwhile, at the end of this year’s Ramadan lecture, more than eight hundred individuals smiled home with cash gifts, while others had free tickets to fill their gas cylinders.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with News Live Nigeria supplicated to Allah to reward AAF founder bountifully in this life and the hereafter.
