LAUTECH graduate Prince Adeyemi Abdullahi Akanni may become next Alaafin of Oyo

The stool of Alaafin of Oyo may be occupied by Prince Adeyemi Abdullahi Akanni, a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.

Prince Adeyemi Akanni is one of the 70 applicants who have submitted their letter of intent to contest for the stool of Alaafin of Oyo. He is from the Alowolodu Royal Family.

Prince Abdul Wahab Olawuwo Iyanda Adeyemi, the grand son of Agboin Onifupa of the Alowolodu lineage is his father.

“My Father, Late Prince Alhaji Abdul Wahab Iyanda Olawuwo Adeyemi was among those who signed the endorsement/consent quota form for the Erstwhile Alaafin Lamidi Adeyemi III (Iku Baba Yeye).

My Grand father, Late Prince Baba Agboin was one of the founding principal members of the present Alowolodu Ruling House”, Prince Adeyemi Akanni told News Live Nigeria.

If selected as the new Alaafin of Oyo, Adeyemi Akanni promised, among other things, to cooperate with the Oyomesi traditional council to give the most dynamic progressive and beneficial leadership to the entire Oyo Community, promote core traditional values and promote the entire Culture of Oyo and strengthen and reform the Oyo traditional council to be more proactive and effective.

He also said he would perform all other duties as may be prescribed by the Oyo State Traditional Council and ensure the security of lives and properties of indigene of Oyo state.

His letter of intent has been submitted to the OyoMesi in Council, in care of High Chief Basorun of Oyo, through Mogaji Alowolodu Ruling House, Alhaji Bola Hassan Oranlola of Ile Tuntun, Oke-Afin, Oyo, through Baba Iyaji of Oyoland, Chief Mukaila Afonja.

Prince Adeyemi Akanni is the CEO of A4 Empire Interbiz Limited, Oyo.

The stool became vacant after the death of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, on April 22, 2022.
