The National Npower President, Comrade Kabiru Aliyu Pelemi has alleged that, the minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Social Development and Disaster Management, Hajia Saddiya Farouq owes 5 months stipends allowance of 14, 200 exited Npower beneficiaries.
Comrade Kabiru made this known in a statement released via the official Facebook page of 36 + FCT Npower Representatives on Thursday.
Kabiru highlighted all the steps taken in pressing home their demands as Peaceful protest which took place in July2020.
“You can all recall vividly when we staged a peaceful protest on July 23rd, 2020 in Abuja and the subsequent National Media Press Conference in Kwara State on September, those events led to Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajia Saddiya Farouq’s promise which till date, is yet to be fulfilled”
The Npower President alleged that, the minister deployed delay tactics and media propaganda in dishing lies to the public about their demands and her failure to pay 14, 200 exited beneficiaries.
He continued, ” The Minister of humanitarian Affairs has been using different delay tactics and media propaganda all this while without fulfilling her exit package through purported NEXIT portal they hurriedly created in December 2020 and they are yet to pay 14, 200 unpaid volunteers till date”
“I want to use this medium to advise all Npower beneficiaries to please build more on what we can lay our hands on and also pray along this struggle to end in praise for us all because we are not giving up on this struggle”
Kabiru maintained that, the exited beneficiaries gave Buhari about 20% votes in 2019 election, alleging that the current administration has abandoned them.
“You all know that Npower volunteers gave about 20% votes in 2019 election to this administration but they have abandoned us”.
It would be recalled that 500,000 Npower beneficiaries (Both Batch A and B) were exited from the scheme by the current administration in July 2020, with plans to give a loan package, tagged ‘NEXIT” package.
The administration, however, hasn’t fulfilled any of the promises to the exited beneficiaries.
