Oranyan Grammar School has won the forth edition of the Bloom Entrepreneurship Leadership and Advocacy Center, BELAC’s Oratory Competition.
BELAC, an organisation established in 2017, put this year’s edition together in the hands of Amb. Agboola Afees Akinola while 17 other volunteers also joined hands to declare Bello Mariam Olaitan of Oranyan Grammar School winner of the competition.
Meanwhile, the Oyo Oratory Contest is a display of speaking competence amongst secondary school students of Oyo Federal Constituency who are drawn from 20 secondary schools annually from public and private schools.
“Annually, the Oratory Contest supports the school fees of the best three outstanding students who excel with various positions at the competition while their schools receive awards of excellence and all students receive certificates of participation and other consolatory prizes and gifts”, the goal of the context reads.
This year’s edition was held at Best Legacy International Secondary School, Awe, Oyo State with the subject matter centering around whether secondary school education promotes entrepreneurial spirit in students.
Participating students in the context include Aleem Aishat (The Enigma College, Oyo), Morgan Deborah (Best Legacy International Secondary School, Awe), Ajayi Gloria(Isale Oyo Community Grammar School, Oyo), Ugwueze Benedicta (Shepherdsfield International School, Oyo), Rasheed Aishat (Community Senior Secondary School, Oke Olola, Oyo, Bolarinwa Peter Inioluwa (EACOED Model High School, Oyo) among others.
Ojetayo Emmanuel (Ojongbodu Grammar chool, Oyo.), Oladosu Mariam (Army Children Secondary School, Isokun, Oyo), Idowu Gloria (Oladokun Grammar School, Awe), Balogun Azeezah (Crescent Heights, Oyo), Abdulganiyy Aishat (Al-Ameen Comprehensive High School, Oyo).
Others are Ojewumi Boluwatife(Roseland Model School, Oyo), Fathia Oluwakemi Adebayo (Anglican Methodist Secondary School II (Snr), Oyo), Bello Mariam Olaitan (Oranyan Grammar School, Soro Hill, Oyo) and Abodunrin Qoreebat(Nature-Nurture Group of Schools, Oyo) were also distinguished participants.
At the end of the highly contested oratory competition, Isale-Oyo Community Grammar School came third; Al-Ameen came second; while the winner of the contest was Bello Mariam Olaitan from Oranyan Grammar School.
The Program Manager of the organisation, Mr Aderibigbe Adebayo Quadri, duly appreciated all participating schools and singled out sponsors for their unending support.
