Plateau: Governor Lalong vows to end attacks on rural communities

The Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong, KSGG, CON, has vowed to put an end to armed rubbery, banditry and kidnapping attacks on rural communities in the Plateau State.

Lalong made the promise on 17 October at the funeral of four victims killed on 8 October, 2022 by bandits in Kulias-Mabel village of Bokkos LGA of Plateau state.

Lalong, who was ably Represented by the Commissioner of Higher Education, Prof. Matur Malau Bernard, expressed sadness over the resurgence of attacks in Bokkos.

He assured that his administration has already mapped out drastic plans to stem the tide.

Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Area, Hon. Joseph Guluwa while mourning with his beloved people of Bokkos assured them of Governor Lalong’s total support in protecting the lives and properties of the people.

He assured that all the hideouts of the assailants shall be identified and flushed out.

The Village Head of Butura, Dah Engineer Dr. John Gabriel Mallo Makwal II encouraged residents to take solace in God while trusting him to bring an end to the threats in the area. He offered his condolences to the families of the deceased and to the Governor of Plateau state Hon Simon Lalong.

Pastor Francis Tavuk in a sermon at the funeral charged believers to turn to God, noting that though death is inevitable all believers should seek God first and serve him because that is the primary responsibility of man.
