SSUCOEN, NASU Felicitate Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo Pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan over appointment

The Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education (SSUCOEN) and the Non-Academic Staff Union and Allied Institutions (NASU) of the defunt Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo Chapter (now Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo) have joined the University community in congratulating Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan over his appointment and assumption of duty as the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo.

The two unions in separate releases signed and made available to the press by their Branch Chairmen, Comrades Victor Oluokun and Adetunji Adeshina respectively, both recognized and appreciated the appointment of the renowned Economist and administrator as “a right and best decision by the Oyo State Government. Indeed, His Excellency, Gov. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde deserves a thumb up for this historic feat.”

Quoting the release from SSUCOEN, “Our Union welcomes with joy the appointment of a renowned Economist, Educationist and Distinguished scholar, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan as our pioneer Vice Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo by the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, FNSE.

As a Union, we laud the Governor on this brave decision and promise to work with the Vice Chancellor in taking the University to greater heights. We are convinced that the new Chief Executive and pioneer Vice Chancellor will bring his wealth of experience to bear in building an enviable University system”

NASU in her own release specially congratulated the University of Ibadan don, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan and wished him a successful tenure of office. “We join other well-meaning individuals to felicitate the Vice Chancellor and formally welcome you on board.

Our Union without doubt shall team up and work with you towards achieving good welfare for our esteemed members. We are delighted that you are more than capable and having you from the ivory tower coupled with your experience in governance and understanding of labour unions, will ease the realization of many of our agitations with the Oyo State Government. May God ease the tasks ahead for you”, the release submitted.

The two unions appreciated the efforts of the Chairman, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education Implementation Committee, Professor Ayodeji Omole for a job well done on the upgrade of the College to a University status and recognized his demonstration of academic and leadership prowess throughout the exercise.
