SPED International Secondary School, Oyo, is celebrating a remarkable period of academic and infrastructural success, highlighted by outstanding results in both the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior Secondary School (SSS) result analysis.
The school recorded a near-perfect run in the 2025 BECE, achieving a 100% pass rate in most subjects, including English Language, Basic Science, and Mathematics.
This excellence continued into the SSS analysis, where subjects like Financial Accounting, Office Practice, Economics, and Commerce all achieved a 100% pass rate. High success rates were also secured in core sciences, with Chemistry at 97.6% and Biology at 99.1%.
These significant achievements are credited entirely to the focused efforts of the outgoing Principal, Dr Suliyat Ajoke Ogungboyega (Jim-Salaam), during her tenure from January 2024 to January 2026.
The Principal, who assumed office with a commitment to uphold excellence and strengthen discipline, successfully built an environment where every child can thrive.
The impressive academic results and positive changes in students’ attitude and moral uprightness were made possible through the cooperation of the teachers and the support of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Together, they helped entrench discipline and promote academic growth.
Beyond academics, Dr Ogungboyega’s tenure also delivered key infrastructural advancements, including the fencing of the Girls’ Hostel and the building of an 8-room toilet facility. Furthermore, the welfare of boarders was improved through an enhanced feeding program, which introduced traditional delicacies to the menu.
The combined success in discipline, academics, and infrastructure marks Dr Ogungboyega’s tenure as one of “remarkable progress” for SPED International Secondary School, Oyo.
“To God be the glory for what He has done. Looking back, I am proud to say that with your cooperation and support, we have made remarkable progress.
We can confidently say that we have moved far ahead in entrenching discipline, and the positive changes are evident in our students’ attitude and behaviour”, Dr Ogungboyega concluded.
