The law may be slow, but it will catch up with him, said the spokesman of the Department of State Services, Mr. Peter Afunaya on the 2nd of July, 2021.
The law indeed caught up with the popular leader of the Yoruba Nation Agitation, Mr. Sunday Adeyemo widely known as “Sunday Igboho” at midnight on Monday, the 19th of July, 2021, at the Cotonou airport in Benin Republic, one of Nigeria’s neighborhood countries in the West African sub-region.
Mr. Sunday was reportedly arrested by the security forces in Benin Republic after he was declared wanted in Nigeria for stockpiling arms in his Soka residence, in Ibadan.
A top source following the matter confirmed that Sunday Igboho will be repatriated to Nigeria today Tuesday, 20th of July, 2021.
The Nigerian secret police had recently raided Igboho’s Ibadan residence in the Soka area on July 1, 2021. With about an hour gun duel between Igboho’s men and the security operatives, about twelve persons were arrested while two persons were killed.
Ever since that time, the Federal Government of Nigeria had placed the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigerian Police, Nigeria Customs Service, and other security forces on the alert to stop Igboho from leaving the country.
