Chief Bisi Ilaka has declared his ambition to contest for Oyo Central Senatorial seat in the general elections come 2023.

The former Chief of Staff to Seyi Makinde of Oyo state made official declaration on Tuesday in Ibadan. He said his decision was a product of sincere resolve to give Oyo Central Senatorial district first-class representation, for the benefit of all.

“Today, (Tuesday) I had the official declaration of my senatorial ambition and meet up with representatives of all local government areas in the eleven local government areas that make up Oyo central senatorial district. This event was at Omituntun House beside testing ground police station, Iwo Road, Ibadan.

“This was an opportunity to once again tell the Noble men of our great party The People’s Democratic Party that our senatorial district deserves first class representation which I am putting myself forward for, for the benefit of all”.

“We have to roll up our sleeves and get ahead and this is the best time to start. I want you all to join me as we start the operation to rescue Nigeria starting from our senatorial district. We are going to run an all inclusive structure”, he concluded.

News Live Nigeria recalls that Chief Oyebisi Ilaka joined Senator Rashidi Ladoja at the inception of Accord (Nigeria) Party just three months before the 2011 election and contested as senator to represent Oyo Central Senatorial District where he emerged the first runner up.

Chief Luqman Ilaka was the senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 National Assembly election where he polled 83,600 votes.

In 2019, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde made his first appointment in office by appointing Chief Oyebisi Ilaka as his Chief of Staff.
