Airlift of intending pilgrims from Kaduna and Jigawa states for the 2022 hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia has been relocated to Mallam Aminu International Airport, Kano.
National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON), Zonal coordinator, Kano zone, Alh. Lawal Ahmed Katsina gave the indication at a stakeholders meeting on Wednesday in Kano.
Alh. Lawal who explained that the emergency decision become pertinent considering the security situation in Kaduna state noted that safety of pilgrims would not be compromised.
The NAHCON zonal coordinator revealed that arrangement has been concluded for hitch free airlift of intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, added that both Kaduna and Jigawa board are being duly briefed on the emergency decision.
Meanwhile, the first batch of intending pilgrims from Kaduna scheduled to depart Nigeria Tuesday 14th, 2022 on Azman air has been shifted.
Kaduna state has 2,491 intending pilgrims, the highest allocation the 2022 hajj exercise.
