Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI), a non-governmental organisation in Ibadan presented twenty one (21) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and five (5) National Examination Council (NECO) forms to deserving students.
The twin award presentations were made at the University of Ibadan. The zonal project coordinator, lawyer Idris Openiyi advised the awardees to make judicious use of the award.

He chronicled the success stories recorded with the UTME form scholarship scheme and he encouraged NECO form awardees to replicate excellence as well. He added that one hundred and two (102) candidates had benefitted from the scheme since inception.
In his comment, Pharm. Sefiu Olaleye explained the mode of selection of awardees.
He said the deserving candidates picked for UTME form award were the ones who scored 50% and above in the selection test earlier conducted in April. In the same vein, the NECO form awardees were the five best students after all the applicants were subjected to English language and Mathematics questions.
A teacher from Methodist Grammar School, Bodija, Mrs Onifade encouraged candidates towards success. She lauded the efforts of AEI and implored the students to maximize the opportunity and reciprocate the gesture when they become notable in the society.
Banjo David, a NECO form awardee from Methodist Grammar School appreciated AEI for rewarding excellence and he requested that the number of awardee be increased subsequently.
The event was well attended by students, parents and teachers.
