In line with its mission to serve humanity, a non-governmental organisation, Academic Excellence Initiative, AEI, Oyo state has gifted sound but indigent students free JAMB and NECO forms in Ibadan, Oyo state.
A total of 56 students were awarded JAMB and SSCE forms. Forty-six students were awarded JAMB forms while 10 students from 3 public schools and 1 private school were awarded NECO forms.
The Award presentation took place on Sunday 11th of February, 2023 at the University of Ibadan Alumni Centre. It was a plenary gathering that was graced by the organizers, the ex-beneficiaries, the awardees, parents and guardians of the awardees as well as their teachers.
The event was honoured by the presence of Ibadan Boys High School’s Principal, Dr. Fasasi, who did excellently in the delivery of his speech of admonition.
According to Barrister Idris Openiyi, the Project Coordinator, “The scholarship exercise for the academic year 2023/2024 was also a success. Having selected the best indigent students on the principle of meritocracy through a screening examination that took place in late January, the organisation did the needful by taking its time to assess the results, and successful candidates were contacted to receive their awards as promised.
Adisa Abdul-Malik was the best UME student having scored 341 in the screening examination while Olanrewaju Abdullah from Oladapo Alayande School of Science, Oke-Ado Ibadan was the overall best SSCE student with a remarkable score of eighty percent out of hundred.
Academic Excellence Initiative will never cease its unflinching support in contributing to the development of humanity through the provision of aid for effective and quality education in Nigeria as it hopes to expand its humanitarian services across the nation.
