Al-Ummah College of Education, Olanbiwonninu, Iwo, Osun State on Thursday matriculated 255 pioneer students for the 2022/2023 academic session at the college premises.
The Provost of the college, Dr Nurudeen Imran Muhammad urged all matriculants to remain resolute to be successful in life, and desist from any act capable of scuttling their ambition.
“It is my pleasure to congratulate the entire students on their admission success and also to prepare their minds towards the task ahead of them. You must always remember the son of whom you are and understand the fact that school is a place of learning, not a place of fun.
It is also advisable that you move far away from any act that can destroy your image and dignity because you are the ambassador of your family, the school and yourself anywhere you are”, he concluded.
At the occasion, the proprietor, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, the Grand Mufti of Yoruba land, Edo and Delta congratulated the students on their admission success and advised them to be focused in order to excel in their academic pursuit.
Sheikh Molaasan registered his heartfelt appreciation to the principal officers of the college, teaching and non- teaching staff, parents of the matriculants and all the matriculants.
He expressed his readiness towards having a hitch free accreditation of all the approved courses and also requested for more courses.
In his speech, the Oluwo of Iwo revealed his ecstasy about the college programmes and pledged to build an auditorium in his name for the college. Oba Abdulrasheed wo prayed for the students success, advised the school authority to be up and doing.
The chief Imam of Ogbomoso while delivering his Goodwill message advised the college to build a legacy that will remain permanently indelible in the field of education by producing competent and qualified graduates that will be able to withstand test of time.
He however, delivered the message of Alhaji Monsur Ayoade Ejide from Ogbomoso who was unavoidably absent, and prayed extensively for the college, management and all the matriculants.
Barrister I. A Kamorudeen led the students in the pronouncement and signing the oath of matriculation.
Al-Ummah College of Education, a missionary institution established in 2013 in which its foundation stone was laid by the then Executive Governor, State of Osun, Engr. AbdurRauf Adesoji Aregbesola on 3rd March, 2013, got approval from the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Abuja in August, 2022.
The occasion was graced by the personalities of high repute among whom are the Emperor of Iwo Empire, Oba (Dr) AbdurRasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu1 and SheikhTalha Yunus Ayilara, the chief Imam of Ogbomoso land.
