The National President of the Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD), Abdulrazaq Abdulganeey, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ibadan North Constituency I, after securing victory through affirmation in the party’s primary election.
Abdulganeey emerged as the party’s sole aspirant in the direct primary conducted across the six wards of the constituency on Wednesday, where party members affirmed his candidature unanimously.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, APC stakeholder, Omilabu Ghandi, commended party members for ensuring a peaceful and transparent process throughout the primary election.
He noted that Abdulganeey’s emergence reflected the confidence and acceptance he enjoys among party members in the constituency.
“The process was transparent, and members have spoken clearly. We urge all members to unite behind the winner ahead of the general election,” Ghandi said.
Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Abdulganeey expressed appreciation to party members and constituents for the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to prioritise the welfare and development of Ibadan North Constituency I if elected into the Oyo State House of Assembly in 2027.
“I dedicate this victory to the people of Ibadan North Constituency I. This mandate is not for me alone but for all of us who desire progress in our community,” he said.
