Fuji icon, General Kolington Ayinla today clears the air on the real originator of Fuji Music stating categorically that Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister was the father of Fuji music idea.
The Soyoyo Crooner made this mouth–gapping confession through a telephone interview with ace broadcaster, Yemi Sonde on a radio station in Ibadan in his programme, Yemi Sonde Live. This week’s edition of the programme was specially organised to celebrate the late Fuji king who would have clocked 73 years today had it been that he was alive.
General Kolington said almost all the war of words between himself and the late Fuji Chief that shook waves during their active service years were mere business chips.
He furthered that the two Fuji founding fathers always played verbal shots to each other on the outside only to be two inseparable allies between themselves.
” Sikiru was the originator of his Fuji, he came to me in the army to push me to starting my band which I didn’t welcome at first. I asked him if he had ever seen a member of the Nigerian Army on the music stage”, he proceeded.
He however detailed that Barrister came back to him to feed him back that he had successfully started his band, thus, imploring him to initiate his band which he also successfully did.
News Live Nigeria understands that Alhaji (Dr.) Sikiru Ayinde Barrister died on Thursday, December 16 2010 with more than one hundred albums.
