BN Ballo College of Arts and Islamic Sciences has formally matriculated 62 students into its University of Ilorin–accredited diploma programme, marking a historic milestone for the institution.
The colourful ceremony, held on Thursday 21 August, was graced by prominent scholars, community leaders, and stakeholders. In his keynote lecture, Dr. Bashir Olanrewaju, Chief Missioner of Ansarudeen, Oyo State, underscored the prestige of knowledge in Islam. He urged the new students to pursue learning not only as an academic exercise but as a noble path that enriches character and society.
Adding depth to the intellectual discourse, Dr. Ibrahim Lere of the University of Ibadan, Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, delivered a stirring Arabic oration, reminding the students that knowledge is both sacred and vital for true success.
The provost of the college, Dr. Ibrahim Adelani, expressed his joy at the milestone, thanking all dignitaries, staff, and stakeholders for their support. He described the matriculation as “a new dawn” for the college, while extending special gratitude to the guest lecturer, Dr. Olanrewaju, for honouring the occasion.
The event was chaired by respected scholars including Shaikh Alli Olaide, Shaikh Abdulazeez Musobalaje Ali, and Imam Akeem Agboluaye, whose presence, according to the college leadership, added spiritual weight and honour to the ceremony.
Also in attendance was Dr. Basheer Ballo Adelani, who shared words of encouragement with the matriculating students, urging them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of beneficial knowledge.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Adelani congratulated the 62 students, charging them to uphold discipline, excellence, and the Islamic values upon which the institution is founded.
“This is the beginning of a remarkable journey. We pray that all our students complete their programmes successfully and become shining ambassadors of Islamic scholarship,” he said.
The ceremony reaffirmed BN Ballo College’s growing reputation as a centre of excellence in Islamic and Arabic studies, committed to raising scholars grounded in both knowledge and character.
