Certificate Forgery: Kemi Adeosun applauds court verdict

Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has hailed a court verdict that vindicated her of the allegation of forging an NYSC certificate.

The court had ruled that an NYSC certificate was not mandatory for public office.

Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Adeosun resigned her ministerial position in 2018 after she was accused of forging an NYSC certificate.

She described the ruling as victory for many Nigerians in the diaspora under similar conditions who desire to serve their country.

The court, presided over by Justice Taiwo Taiwo, ruled she was not eligible to perform NYSC by virtue of the constitution, especially having not lived and schooled in Nigeria.
