The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has taken a new medium to urge the management of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited to explore more economic-promising areas to deepen the capital markets by venturing into emerging frontiers.
The Nation’s second-in-command made this assertion during a courtesy visit of the Management of NGX, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Temi Popoola, to the State House, Abuja.
The Vice President gave his assurance of the government’s support by way of making economically viable policies that will boost the capital market. He also made remarkable acclamations for the successful demutualization of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
The Chairman in his remark said: “At NGX, we have been repositioned for-profit and to align with the tastes and preferences of the market. Under this new arrangement, the market will be opened up for more companies to be listed, resulting in more revenues for the government as listed companies are more responsive to the environment they operate in.”
He also allured the Federal Government to support the renewal of the exchange system, assuring better times ahead both for the public and corporate organizations.
Dignitaries present at the visit include; Acting Head, Business Support Services, NGX, Mrs. Irene Robinson-Ayanwale; Head, Listings Business, NGX, Mr. Olumide Bolumole; and Head, Government Relations, NGX, Mr. Soji Akinyele.
