Pure Heart Islamic Foundation, PHF, has joined the rest of the Muslim Ummah in celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr this year and called for prayer, and collaboration in order to end insecurity bedeviling the country.
In a release made available to News Live Nigeria by its General Secretary, Jamiu Olatunji Bello, the foundation said, “everyone can see, our country is going through difficult times.
We have taken advantage of Ramadan’s opportunity to supplicate to Allah for a better situation. Our prayers for our leaders and country should continue throughout the year, not only during Ramadan.
It therefore sought concerted efforts by all stakeholders to put an end to all forms of ills which do not exclude killings for money rituals, and banditry.
“The prevalence of ritual killings, banditry-related crimes, and ethno-religious conflicts necessitates a coordinated effort on the part of governments at all levels and citizens to eradicate them.
At this juncture, we urge the country’s religious leaders and organisations to preach and teach “purification of the soul”, because only reformed souls can bring peace and prosperity to the country.
As citizens, we must remain responsible and law-abiding. To this end, we urge everyone to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) in advance of the general elections in 2023.
We should hurry to complete the necessary Continuous Voters’ Registration (CVR) for: new registrations, replacement of cards, or transfer of voters cards to new locations. Participating in the electoral process is a responsibility that we all owe to our dear country.
We are worried about the fate of Palestinians who have been subjected to Israeli occupation forces’ continuous persecution.
The killing of Palestinians, particularly women and children, the destruction of their properties, the displacement from their land, and the vandalisation of their mosques, are all denounced.
We urge all parties involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict to sit down and negotiate their way out of the conflict. Getting more firearms will just make things worse. If anything, the arm dealers win.
One of the indicators of acceptance of deeds during Ramadan is to stick to them even after the month is through. We encourage everyone to keep doing their best to follow Islam’s rules at all times.
We should not be Ramadan-obsessed; rather, we should be Allah-obsessed”, the statement concluded.
