A non-profit organisation, Arowosaye Ahmad Foundation has received encomium for the distribution of food items worth more than 1.5 million naira to residents of Oyo town.
The exercise, as an integral part of the 2023 annual Ramadan lecture series, was carried out from Friday March 31st, to Sunday April 2nd, 2023, reached about 600 beneficiaries with 2.5kg of Semo each.
Founder of the foundation, Alhaji Ahmad Arowosaye said he’s motivated to give out to the needy and less-privileged in the society because of the current hardship many households are facing. He added that, this has been his covenant with Allah, The Bestower of wealth, that insofar as He continues to enrich him, he would put smile on other people’s faces.
“Our major concern is to assist every one live a healthy life, access education and work towards achieving their full potential by providing a support system to children, especially those who possess the necessary academic ability but lack the required financial means.
We also organise vocational training and workshops for the less privileged and public at large. Our goal is to help the vulnerable; children, widows and, the aged,” he added.
Further, he said, “I shall continue to put smiles on people’s faces, because I have had that covenant with Allah to be generous with other fellow men. I have resolved, long ago, to assist the vulnerables and the less-privileged in the society including the orphans, widows, indigent students and the downtrodden”.
The three-day programme, according to the foundation’s coordinator in Oyo town, Ahmad Olohun-Oyin, was a routine event which features, annually, Ramadan lectures and distribution of food items, cash. He said this year’s edition only featured distribution of food items to the aged, widows and nursing mothers.
“Apart from food items, some also went home with cash gifts. More than 1.5 million naira was expended. Thanks to almighty Allah who gave the founder, Alhaji Ahmad Arowosaye the opportunity and readiness to spend on His cause. May He continue to enrich him so that this charitable acts would not stop”, he concluded.
A beneficiary of the food programme, who pleaded anonymity said the items came at a time of hardship where most families barely afford daily meals.
She maintained that there is no other thing that could be more appreciated, this time, than food items, while praying that Almighty Allah will not forsake the founder at the time he needs His aid.
