Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo appoints acting bursar

The Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, has approved the appointment of Dr. Sunday Timothy Adegbite as the Acting Bursar of the institution. His appointment takes effect from November 12, 2025, following the retirement of the incumbent Bursar, Dr. H.B. Asiyanbi, on November 11, 2025.

Dr. Adegbite, a native of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, joined the College on October 4, 1993, as an Internal Auditor II. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become Assistant Chief Internal Auditor before being transferred to the Bursary Department, where he has served as Deputy Bursar since October 2009.

A seasoned financial administrator, Dr. Adegbite holds a PhD in Accounting (2024), MSc Accounting (2019), BSc Accounting (2015), MBA Financial Management (2002), and HND Accounting (1991). With over three decades of professional experience, he has played key roles within the College community, including Treasurer of the Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education (1995–2005), member of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee, and Bursar’s Representative on Staff Promotion Committees (2018 & 2019). He currently serves as President of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Oyo State Branch 2.

Dr. Adegbite is a Fellow of ANAN, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), a member of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria, and an Associate Certified Forensic Accountant (ACrFA). He has attended over 40 workshops and conferences, with numerous publications to his credit.

The Provost, Dr. Ademola Rauf Salami, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff, and Students, congratulated Dr. Adegbite, describing his appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his service, expertise, and dedication.

Dr. Adegbite is expected to lead the College’s financial administration with effect from November 12, 2025.
