Political Awareness Group, PAG has appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for declaring a work- free-day to mark the commencement of the new Islamic year, Hijrah 1443.
This is contained in a letter of appreciation to the Governor signed by the Chairman of the Group, Barrister Abdulwaheed Olowonjaye and made available to our correspondent in Ibadan.
Barrister Olowonjaye said PAG, an Association of Muslim Professionals and Technocrats for good governance lauded the Governor for fulfilling his promise of declaring a public holiday to mark the new year stressing that “whoever fails to appreciate man may not be thankful to God Almighty”.
He urged the Governor to ensure that the work-free day is gazetted so that it will be sustained.
“Kindly help us gazette this holiday and give the approval all necessary formalities it deserves to be sustained” .
Barrister Olowonjaye prayed for the success of the administration to maintain religious harmony to enhance development of the State.
“We pray to God Almighty to guide you more with your team to maintain religious harmony so that justice, peace and tranquility shall reign high in Oyo State”.
