A Muslim cleric, Imaam Daud Igiogun has charged the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola to immortalise his name embodied in good deeds as a mark of appreciation for sound health and life.

This call was made today at the 65th birthday prayers for Aregbesola held at Oranmiyan house, Osogbo.

Imaam Igiogun who lectures at the Federal College of Education, Special, Oyo harped on the need for the minister to remain thankful for being blessed with sound health and life.

He added that doing so “is like an amount that is going into a target savings account. It will make you have good ending, a means of entering Paradise and a light for your progeny”.

Besides seeking Allah’s pardon, long life and sound health, the cleric urged the celebrant to be more preoccupied with projects and programmes that will alleviate the sufferings of the people.

He said this will immortalise his good deeds, and it is a veritable means to win Allah’s felicity.

While charging the minister to do everything humanly possible to ensure peace and security thrive in the country, the Imaam said, “as it is the duty of your office to ensure security in our dear nation, the first means of ensuring peace in any nation is faith in God.

Those who are blessed with the voice of explanation of faith in God are the trustworthy scholars. Therefore, supporting religious institutions will be a great reward for you in this world and hereafter”.

The scholar however called on Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola to immortalise his name by reviving some dying values among Nigerian youth such as reading culture.

“Resuscitate some of the values that are dying among Nigerian youth. This includes reading culture. Public Libraryis almost going into extinction nowadays. Reawaken this in your name. Let us have Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola Public Library.

This library should be both analog and digital and it should be up to standard in a way that it will attract foreign researchers to visit due to the valuable contents the library will have”, he concluded.
