JUST IN: House of representatives resume plenary, pledge to pass budget on time

Members of the House of Representatives, Tuesday resumed plenary and deliberated on issues of national importance, ranging from budget 2021, police reforms, and so on.

The speaker, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila reiterated that, “It is in the best interests of our country that all parties concerned subject themselves to this process in good faith, knowing that this too is an obligation of service to our country. We will pass the budget, and we will do it early, and we will do it right.”

In his opening remark, the Speaker said: “In the time we have been away, the Committees of the House of Representatives have been hard at work on the Appropriation Bill 2021. They have been receiving and considering submissions from MDA’s of the Nigeria Government.”

Mr speaker added that ”Efforts are in full swing to ensure that we will pass the budget on time in keeping with the standard we set last year, and which the Nigerian people now rightly expect of us”.
