The dawn of Nigeria’s Diamond Jubilee was greeted with an historic event as Good Seed Transformational Initiative hosted her 2020 edition of ‘The Future Project’ virtually. The event was filled with waves of nostalgia as the NGO gave Nigerian youths insights into the future of our dear nation.
The virtual event witnessed a large turnout of Nigerian Youths from home and abroad. Giving his welcome address at the event, the Executive Director, Mr. Teslim Adebimpe urged Nigerian youths to be optimistic about the future of the country as the country celebrates her 60th independence anniversary.
In his presentation, the President of FUTA Debate Club, a final year student of Urban and Regional Planning in the Federal University of Technology, Akure and the lead discussant, Mr. Temitope Akinmoladun Samuel spoke on the theme of the event ‘Nigeria at 60: Retrospecting into the Past Glories and the Present Predicaments Towards Reshaping the Future’.
Mr. Temitope charged Nigerian youths to start crafting non-violent and lasting solutions to our common predicaments as good people of our dear land. As he answered questions and attended to reactions, participants were given a charge to shun violence and stand upright at the front of sustainable development of Nigeria.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of the winners of the Annual Essay Contest organised by the NGO. Asunmogejo Yusuff Olawale, a final year Civil Engineering student of the University of Ilorin emerged as the winner, while Arowole Seun Samuel, from University of Ibadan, emerged as the first runner up and Joshua John Inioluwa, also from University of Ibadan, emerged as the second runner up.
Certificates of participation were issued to the participants present at the event. The attendees commended and shower ecomiums on the organizers of the event as they indicated their interest in further engagement with the organisation.
