PHF Awards UTME Form Scholarship to 22 Muslim Youth, News Live Nigeria reports.
PureHeart Islamic Foundation of Nigeria, PHF, Oyo local branch has awarded 22 UTME forms to deserving Muslim students.
The event was held today Saturday 5th February, 2022 at Afolabi Mosque, Owode, Oyo.
The Coordinator, Alhaji AbdurRaheem Owodunni hinted more forms would still be awarded to the less privileged youths considering the harsh economic situation of the country.
In his address, Owodunni mentioned that the gesture was part of the Scholarship and Empowerment Programme of the Organisation and grants have earlier been given to some newly admitted Higher Institution students by the State Chapter.
He pointed out that, the areas of focus of the organisation included Welfare, Education/Training and Technology.
Alhaji Owodunni however advised the awardees to seize the opportunity and be dedicated to their studies to achieve success in the forthcoming examinations.
He said, “the Scholarship Project is aimed at giving back to the society by relieving some parents and less privileged youths of some financial obligations.
However, the selection test was also an avenue for the students to assess their level of preparedness.
Though, the Organisation intended to award scholarship to close to 100 youths but it was a case of many were called, few were chosen based on the performance from the selection test”, he concluded.
Besides, the Vice Principal, Special duties of Crescent Heights, Oyo, Mr Nurudeen Lasisi, lectured the awardees on how to pass exams without stress.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the local branch, Mr AbdurRasheed Olasemeji enjoined the awardees to always seek advice when necessary.
