Ramadan: TMC Oyo distributes materials worth N1 million to Muslim faithful

The Muslim Congress, TMC, Oyo state chapter has distributed materials worth about one million naira to the Muslim faithful who are in need.

The programme tagged, “Feed the Needy” was held at Assabaq College, Bodija, Ibadan on Sunday and, food stuff and cash worth about one million naira were distributed to about 50 Muslim individuals.

Fadheelatul Ustadh Abdullateef AbdulAzeez who delivered lecture on the topic, significance and essentiality of being generous, encouraged all Muslims who are well to do in the society to, as a matter of necessity, spend on the needy so as to make life meaningful for them.

He said, “Those who are endowed financially among us must imbibe welfarism and good neighbourliness in their daily relations with people, as doing this is a viable means to make this life a better place for the needy”.

News Live Nigeria learnt that the programme started in Oyo state about five years ago with the aim of providing food materials and cash for individuals, so that the needy will be able to take care of themselves, especially during the blessed month Ramadan.

 

The chief Imaam of Fountain University, Osogbo, Sheikh Sirajudeen Bakrin said the society will be better if such programmes as this are encouraged by Muslim organisations, noting that poverty which is the bane of insecurity will be reduced. He therefore called on the rich to desist from wasting money on frivolities which place God’s wrath on the owners.

The State Coordinator, Waali, of TMC, Alhaji Engr Daud Oladosu stated that the programme was part of the many ways of impacting people’s life. He added TMC as an organisation takes welfarism of the needy with utmost priority at all times, saying good welfarism would solve many sociocultural problems confronting the masses in the country.

In his address, Dr Kamaru Salahudeen, the Head of Department of Mass Communication, Fountain University, said “before we take our last breath, we should think about what will outlive us in terms of righteous deed”.

Alhaji AbdulAzeez Bamgbade, who is the organisation’s secretary in the state appreciated those who were instrumental in making the programme a reality, praying that Allah in His infinite mercy will replenish their pocket and reward them in manifold.
