A shocking media interview with Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, one of the counsels to the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has shown how Mr. Mazi Kanu was abducted, tortured, and renditioned to Nigeria.

In the interview hosted by the British Broadcasting Commission (BBC), Mr. Ifeanyi claimed that Mr. Mazi Kanu’s arrest through renditioning is a case against the federal government.

Recall that on the 27th of July, 2021, the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami declared the arrest of Mr. Many as a result of collaborative efforts of international security operatives.

Media reports after the arrest showed that the arrest was made in Kenya, but the Kenya Government on the 2nd of July, through her High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Wilfred Machage have come out to debunk this news as mischievous and untrue.

Mr. Ifeanyi in his claims recounted expressively in Mr. Kanu’s words how he was illegally renditioned to Nigeria. He stated that Mr. Kanu checked into a Kenyan hospital in Nairobi on the 14th of May, 2021, on complaints of heart disease suspected to be Hypertension or High Blood Pressure.

After Kanu received the much-needed treatment at the hospital, he drove himself to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where he packed in an underground garage to pick up a visitor suspected to be a female visitor. Although the identity of the visitor wasn’t declared, news surrounding his arrest posed the supposed lady to be a cop from Brazil.

Suddenly, a group of seven security operatives with inscribed insignia of the Kenya force on them stormed Kanu at the point of receiving his visitor. The lawyer claimed that Mazi Kanu was framed up to be a supporter of the Al-Shabab terrorist group to the people nearby to pave a way to eliminate all forms of resistance as it was apparent that the mode of arrest was not official.

Mr. Kanu was eventually whisked to an unknown location in Nairobi where he was chained on the bare floor, beaten, and tortured. Visible injuries in his right wrist can support that, said Mr. Ifeanyi. It was said that Mr. Kanu spent 8 days in custody of the Kenyan security operatives under harsh living conditions.

Shades of luck ran in favour of Mr. Kanu when one of the security operatives opened up to him that they arrested him on a security alert by the Nigerian Government on the information that he was linked to Al-Shabab.

Mr. Kanu immediately asked for freedom, but this security operative said that they have been committed and he would have to be bundled to Nigeria.

In less than 2 hours, Mr. Kanu was bundled, and blindfolded inside a lone passenger private jet at an unknown location, and was transported to Nigeria at about noon on the 27th of June.

The Federal Government however is yet to release any official statement to confute this news at the time of filing this report. With the series of events surrounding Kanu’s arrest, more shocking reveals are set to be made known to the public.
