Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus once said “Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum” which translates to “if you want peace, prepare for war” in English. Are we safe to say that Mr. Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho is confronted with a war-like arsenal because he wants peace?
The gods in our Nollywood movies are extravagantly powerful and they wield utmost superiority. Is the federal government of Nigeria a perfect case study?
Whether government and handlers of our security system like it or not, The dawn of a new era broke forth, the wailings and despair of a particular ethnic group of Nigeria held a wheel of control and directly or indirectly clouded certain man’s heart and who decided to lead the certain charge. Sunday Igboho inordinately wiggled in the despair of his households, swam in their tears, and marked himself out as the only hope for the Igangan farmers when other hopes looked fading. His stories have grown to become a tale worth listening to as opposed to those leaders we elected to lead us. Owing to this, a section of the descendants of Oduduwa regard Igboho as a hero, a pillow(comfort), a whistle and a voice preferred to the cracked of the constituted authority.
It is no more news that an apparatus of the security forces of the country paid a no-joke visit to Mr. Sunday Igboho in his Ibadan residence. Our focus in this piece is not to dwell on the thug of war but to presume and foretell what this means to the giant of Africa, Nigeria.
On our past dose, we established how Mr. President vowed to “speak to criminals in a language they understand”. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was arrested least expectedly but does Mr. Sunday Adeyemo belong to the group of miscreants? Mr. Olayomi Koiki, Igboho galantly defended his boss with press release after attack stating that his principal is a law-abiding citizen.
Who are the gods? it is unequivocally credible to say that a legitimate government is a god to its people. The government controls the law and the order of doing things. The government can even seek the help of other gods (government of other countries) to assist them to chase a cause or the country offering to help without innovation. Mr. Igboho also attested to this in one of the videos that surfaced in the media.
But it is on record that Mr. Igboho confronted officers of the Nigeria Customs Service and carted away some of their firearms at Idk Iroko. The media has also aided in spreading clips where the acclaimed Asa activists uttered some anti-government statements. Therefore if you’re conversant with how the gods operate, you will know that the gods never always want any stain on their white cloth. Mr. Igboho is also believed to be fronting an unrealistic cause; at a time when Nigeria needs unity most, here is Sunday Igboho and his boys trying to break the bunch.
The DSS on behalf of the federal government has declared Mr. Igboho wanted, the self-pronounced activist will now practically live in his own country like a ghost. Maybe we should be fair to Igboho, all he wants is comfort for his people which looks far-fetched but why hasn’t the government gone all out against more tempestuous groups haunting national security. The gods must answer this as well.
On the flip side, could it be that Mr. Igboho is being trailed with regard to some of his non-nationalistic and overplotted speeches? Adeyemo was looking forward to a protest readied to be launched in Lagos on the 2nd of July 2021 with the saying”no Jupiter can stop the protest”.It is pathetic that gods’ Jupiter has now stopped the protest; his stout readiness seems to have been met with an equivalent response from the department of state security, therefore, making the protest null.
The Strom(DSS)that ransacked Sunday Adeyemo’s Ibadan residence seems to have raised a lot of eyebrows from near, far, and wide. Apart from the known sentiment that is envisioned to follow this incident, some Nigerians have decided to couple the issue with frightening emotional attachments while others who weren’t even on the know of who Igboho is are beginning to tamper the news with pity.
Setting the idea straight, Mr. Sunday Adeyemo ” Igboho Osha” shouldn’t have confronted the customs official, or even if he did that for self defence, bustling around with the news that he singlehandedly overwhelmed the security architecture of the country pushed him more to the rot of the gods.
As earlier stated, we’re not centering this on the drama but the result of the drama. Even when Twitter is banned in Nigeria, Mr. Igboho has not stopped to trend. And with the DSS coming out clean that they did the raid lawfully, one would wonder if the gods are ever repentant.
It is painful that the presidency (gods) decides to use an anarchic mob rule.system or absolute ochlocracy, where constitutional dictates are paid less attention to run after those who they perceive to be weeds in their farm.
We look forward to seeing the presidency run after killer herdsmen and bandits this way they’ve gagged Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, but if nothing is done, then we should blame the government rather than praise them in this case.
