¶ He was born in Ogun state on 19 May 1958
¶ Buruji Kashamu was a multi-linguist who speaks French, English and Yoruba fluently.
¶ As a Senator in the 8th National Assembly, he represented Ogun East covering eleven local government areas vis-a-vis Ijebu North East, Ijebu North, Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu East, Ikenne, Ipokia, Odogbolu, Obafemi Owode, Remo North, Sagamu, and Ogun Waterside.
¶ Kashamu started his education at Ansarudeen Primary School, Ijebu Igbo and left in 1972 to complete his primary school education at St. John Modern School, Lagos, after which he proceeded to Pitman College, London, where he studied Business Administration
¶ He was the PDP candidate in the 2019 Ogun State gubernatorial election and lost against Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress in distance 4th.

¶ He served as a Nigerian Senator between 9 June 2015 and April 2019. His predecessor was senator Sefiu Adegbenga.
¶ He was the Chairman/Chief Executive of Kasmal Group of Companies, an indigenous conglomerate with interests in hospitality, property, oil and gas, automobile and investment services. He was also the Chairman of the Group Kasmal SAL in Republic of Benin.
¶ Kashamu died in Lagos on Saturday 8 August, 2020 as a result of complications caused by COVID-19.
¶ He died at the age of 62 years, two months, eight days.
