The 6th edition of Oyo couples and singles day is holding tomorrow Saturday 7 September, 2024 at Precious Goal Event Centre, opposite Saint Francis College, Kosobo, Akinmonrin road, Oyo. The programme put together by RAMTAQ Consulting and Development is ably led by Prince Ayobami Sanda Ladigbolu, PhD.
The theme for this year’s edition is Analysing and Discussing the Implications of Anger Management, Paternity, Single Parenthood and Family Wellness for both Married and Single Individuals. Under the chairmanship of Mr Bayo Adeyinka, the panelists include Sheikh Abdulrauf Mustapha, Reverend Dr Kehinde Oladiran Olaleye, and Sheikh Abideen Abolore. Other panelists are Mrs Adetutu Oshofowora, Sheikh Abdulmajeed Salman Alawaye and Awo Ifaseun Morakinyo.
News Live Nigeria’s investigation revealed that the idea was launched in the year 2019 and the maiden edition was themed Our Family is Our Lives, the second edition which was themed Financial Regulations and Patriarchy in African Marriages was held on September 19th, 2020, and the third edition was held on the June 12th, 2021, with the theme Courtship, Marriage and Parenting: A Tripod of Life.
Meanwhile the 4th and 5th editions were held on 10th December, 2022 and 7th October, 2023 with How and When to Leave a Marriage: Is Divorce an Option?, and, Exploring Modern Relationships: Understanding Marital Expectations for Both Married and Single Individuals, Navigating Parenting in the 21st Century and Empowering Teenagers through Education as themes.
In a chart with our correspondent on Friday, Dr Prince Ayobami Sanda Ladigbolu hinted that, the major goal of the event is to enhance and enrich peoples’ mental health within the framework of families, marriages, and relationships regardless of the one’s marital status. The purpose of the programme are secular due to the differences in the religious and life orientations of the audience.
Dr Ayo Sanda also said this year’s edition will be educative as well as enlightening, as usual, adding that RAMTAQ’s Family Care Centre will be launched tomorrow, September 7, 2024. He said, “the aim of the center is to provide psychological intervention to the emotionally challenged families. Some divorces can be averted if a timely emotional-based therapy is provided for the troubled couples.
“Awards will be given to people who had supported us in the past editions and our several community development activities. Marriage is the oldest social intuition ever created by God. At RAMTAQ CONSULTING AND DEVEOPMENT, one of our major assumptions is that when families are stable, societies will be stable. Our nation will be stable”, he concluded.
Awardees, according to the convener, Dr Prince Ayobami Sanda Ladigbolu include Engineer Faozey Nurudeen, Engineer Ajisafe Akinkunmi, Mr Akinjide Ajisafe, Imam Daud Igiogun, Honourable Okunlola Olafemi Taiwo JP, Honourable Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi, Senator Yunus Akintunde among others.
