The Alaafin of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III has opened up that it has only been the grace of The Almighty that has kept him hale and hearty all these years and not any magical definition.
The Paramount Ruler made this confession in his palace when addressing the sons and daughters of the town on the occasion organised to mark his 82nd birthday on Thursday.
Oba Adeyemi who appreciated the Chiefs and the Baales for the pieces of positive advice they always offer him and more importantly, himself who always uphold and put them to actuality.
“If you want progress and development in the town, endeavor to always speak the truth to leaders at all times”, the Ultimate King charged all the residents of Oyo.
He did seize the uniqueness of his birthday to pray for Nigeria, the six geo_political zones, and particularly Oyo state to reach the apogee the founding fathers and every success_loving indigenes want them to attain.
Oba (Dr) Lamidi Adeyemi, however, felicitated with everyone that has Oyo blood running in their veins for the building, keeping and maintaining of peace in the town stressing that the kingdom has never recorded any show of religious bigotry since he got to the throne.
Other high points at the event were prayers from the leaders of the three established religious institutions of the town;, Islam, Christianity, and Abalaye, the cutting of the cakes and greetings from visitors such as Prince Akinpelu Bakare from Oko and his entourage, Bishop Sam Zuga Foundation representatives and Ambassador Fowler Gomis from Portugal who all took to their knees when paying homage to the paramount ruler.
