Court sets Nnamdi Kanu free of terrorism charges, orders his release from detention, News Live Nigeria reports.
The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has declared as unlawful the rendition of the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria.
A three-man panel of the appellate court led by justice Hannatu Sanke in a judgement held that the arrest of the separatist agitator was against the international law.
The panel also held that there was a serious violation of Kanu’s rights by the federal government in the manner he was arrested and brought back to Nigeria without following extant laws on extradition
