According to NAFDAC, consumption of the fake product poses serious health hazards, including toxic chemical exposure, unapproved additives, foodborne illnesses, allergic reactions, organ damage, and in severe cases, death. Vulnerable groups such as infants, children, pregnant women, and the elderly are at higher risk.
