By Asunmogejo Yusuf Olawale

The governing board of trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up a committee of party leaders, including ex-governors, ministers, and other party heavyweights to put an end to the crisis bedeviling the party.

Before now, the opposition party has been embroiled in a leadership tussle with some caucuses of the party throwing their cards against the party chairman, Chief Uche Secondus, thereby leading to some major party heavyweights dumping the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a view to ameliorating the tohubohu, the former Senate President, Sen. David Mark made the pronouncement on Thursday, 5th of August after a closed-door meeting of the BoT of the party.

Upon this pronouncement, the committee is expected to meet within the next 72 hours. Party members who are to be present include Governors, Members of the National Assembly, Former Ministers of the party, the National Working Committee (NWC), and members of the Party’s Governing Council.
