Al-Mu’minaat wraps up week, seeks collaborative efforts for societal reformation

Al-Mu’minaat, The Believing Organisation, Oyo state chapter has wrapped up this year’s Al-Mu’minaat Week with Women’s/Unity Day held at House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan on Saturday August 21, 2021. The organisation called for collaborative efforts to achieve a verile society.

The Week themed, Home Pillar: Society Reformer which commenced on Tuesday August 17 and climaxed with the Women’s/Unity Day on Saturday August 21, 2021.

Giving her speech at the programme, Oyo state Amirah, Hajia Zaynab Bamidele explained that this year’s Al-Mu’minaat Week began with Humanitarian Visit and would end with commissioning of a community project in Aserikeu Mosque, Asogo, Oyo.

“The week-long activities started on Tuesday 17th August, 2021 with Humanitarian visit to Rehabilitation Centre in Moniya, Ibadan. This was followed by Media tour to Tribune Newspaper, Ibadan and Mosque Cleaning of the Oja’ba Central Mosque. Special Jummah Services were equally held across all of our Local Government Branches and finally on Monday 23rd August, 2021 we will be commissioning a community Project at Asogo area in Oyo town”.

On the choice of the Day’s topic, Muslimah and her roles in societal reformation, Hajia Zaynab said it is “aimed at educating the Muslim Women towards achieving peaceful homes and playing our roles in the society as expected.”

Meanwhile, the guest lecturer who is the Director, Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, Alhaja Monsurat Olaide Abdul Fattah dwelt on the topic, MUSLIMAH:
HER ROLE IN SOCIETAL REFORMATION.
Alhaja Monsurat urged the women folk to rise and salvage the sinking ship of the world as evident in social vices ravaging the entire humanity. She listed the notable decays which include corruption, wanton killing, insecurity and disunity.

” The Decay is so obvious with the following observations we can all be witnesses to the volume of corruption in the society, ease with which life is taken and wasted, failure of all measures at redeeming our society, increasing number of gun wildering groups and general insecurity. Others include inability of Muslims to speak with one voice, and, pathetically, the volume of Muslim children involved in this decay.”

She however attributed a number of causes to the evils bedeviling humankind as love of wealth, women and wine, time wasting inventions such as motion pictures and social media, failed parenting and unethical competition/rivalry between men and women, at the perils of their children.

” While Muslim women should hold up to their Deen, you must be practising Muslims in all your dealings. You must not be a Muslim in the mosque and a socialite outside. Be a Muslim consistently.

” Be the pillar of support for your husband, like Khadijah Bint Khuwaylid was to Rasulullah. Be a good adviser to him like Umm Salamah at Hudaybiyyah. Your husband must not be avoiding you during major decisions if he sees you as a pillar”, she concluded.
