Ansarud-deen Central Mosque, Oke-Eletu, Oyo, reopened today after fifteen weeks of closure due to the ravaging global pandemic. This development comes as a result of the directive by the Oyo state government to reopen religious centres in the state.

The chief Imaam, Alhaji Mikail Mobolaji, in his fifteen-minute lecture (khutbah) enjoined all congregants to be more religious, as this is the only means to earn God’s felicity. He equally called on the Muslim faithful to remain steadfast and firm in their duties to Allah, the best of the healers, stressing that adherence to COVID-19 Protocols is key.

He said, ” this is a time in the history of the world which places lots of burdens on the entire humanity, vis-a-vis, uncertainty, fear, frustrated hope and loss of confidence in self, at some point, and the governments”.

While speaking with NewsLive after the two-rakah prayer, the secretary of Ansarud-deen Society of Nigeria, Oyo chapter, Alhaji AbdulRafiu Awujoola, expressed his joy for having yet another communion with Allah, in congregation, after almost four months of closure. He established that all COVID-19 Protocols were adhered with.

Some of the happy congregants who attended today’s Jumah service thanked Allah for the opportunity and expressed their readiness to abide by the preventive measures to curtail the spread of the global virus.
