The Senate of the University of Lagos has elected Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as Acting Vice Chancellor.
Out of the total of 176 professors at the senate meeting, 135 cast their vote for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Professor Ogunmola, while Prof. Ben Oghojafor polled 31 votes. A vote was declared void.
Ogunsola was the first woman to be the Provost College of Medicine University of Lagos before she became DVC.

Folasade Ogunsola is a Professor of Clinical Microbiology, College of Medicine, University
of Lagos, Nigeria. Her research interest and work has centered around the diagnosis and
prevention of infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance. She has for two decades been involved in raising awareness on Infection Control in Nigeria
