Eid Al-Fitr is Friday in Saudi Arabia, as Nigerians await Sultan’s announcement, News Live Nigeria reports.

Tomorrow Friday 21st April, 2023 is the day of Eid Al Fitr in Saudi Arabia while Muslim faithful in Nigeria wait for the official announcement later in the evening from the Sultan.

The Shawwal crescent was spotted in Tamir, Saudi Arabia on Thursday, meaning the first day of Eid Al-Fitr will be on Friday, April 21.

The Saudi Supreme Court confirmed the sighting and announced Friday as the beginning of Eid.

Eid Al-Fitr celebrations follow the end of Ramadan which lasts 29 or 30 days based on when the crescent moon is sighted.

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto and President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar is expected to confirm the sighting of the moon marking the beginning of Shawwal, 1444AH.
