Eidul Fitr 2023: Governor Abdulrazaq congratulates Muslims in Kwara, urges compatriots to forget pre-election grudges

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara has congratulated Muslims in the state on the completion of a month-long Ramadan fasting while urging compatriots to forgive one another and put behind them all pre-election grudges in order to build a stronger economy in an atmosphere of love and harmony.

“On the completion of Ramadan and the dawn of Eid-el-Fitri, I congratulate the Muslim community and wish everyone a blessed Eid. I pray Allah to accept and reward our fasting, our alms, and our worship with Al-jannah Firdaus. I pray Allah to accept our prayers on ourselves, our families, our communities, and our country, Nigeria.

“In the spirit of the holy month, I urge our compatriots to forgive one another, put behind us all pre-election grudges, and support all government’s initiatives to build and consolidate peace in every part of Nigeria, as well as build a stronger economy in an atmosphere of love and harmony.

 

This is our country; we have a task to make it work with our collective efforts, commitment, and good attitude, keeping in mind that no society is without its struggles”, the governor concluded.

He however specifically congratulated the Emir of Ilorin who is the leader of the faithful in Kwara State, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari on the occasion of the Eid, praying may Allah grant the first class monarch more rewarding years in good health.

Sultan of Sokoto and President-General Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, announced in his national broadcast on Thursday that Friday 21 April, 2023 is the first day of Shawwal, signifying the end of Ramadan 144AH.
