The Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Imam Yunus Olushina Teliat Ayilara II, PhD, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, the Oluwo of Iwoland, on the celebration of his 10th year on the throne.

Imam Ayilara described the monarch’s decade-long reign as “revolutionary, courageous, spiritually guided, and anchored upon unwavering submission to the Almighty.”

He noted that Oba Akanbi has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding that ultimate sovereignty belongs solely to Allah, affirming the principle of Al-Mulk Lillah—kingship belongs to God alone.

According to the Grand Chief Imam, the Oluwo of Iwoland has distinguished himself as a bold defender of Tawhid, championing the purification of Yoruba traditional kingship from practices inconsistent with monotheism.

He remarked that the monarch’s fearless stance against idolatry has positioned him as a beacon of truth, moral clarity, and spiritual reform within Yorubaland.

Imam Ayilara also highlighted the strong bond between the Ogbomosoland and Iwoland religious leadership, describing their relationship as one rooted in a shared commitment to the eradication of shirk and the promotion of pure monotheism. “The Oluwo’s unwavering support for our efforts in Ogbomosoland is a testament to our shared mission to uphold the absolute sovereignty of the One True Creator, Allah,” he stated.

Felicitating the people of Iwoland, the Grand Chief Imam urged the Muslim Ummah, indigenes, and residents to celebrate the progress, peace, and development witnessed over the past decade. He praised Oba Akanbi’s dedication to infrastructural growth, cultural preservation, and community upliftment—efforts he noted were consistently aligned with the principles of Islamic morality and free from practices of idolatry.

Imam Ayilara concluded with prayers for the monarch, asking Allah (SWT) to grant the Oluwo many more years of sound health, prosperity, divine guidance, and courageous leadership. He further prayed that the light of Tawhid shining from Iwoland will continue to illuminate Yorubaland and the wider world.
